Optimizing limited water resources is the challenge currently facing irrigated agriculture. To ensure that adequate water is available for crops on the farm, methods of allocating water and estimating crop water requirements must be accurate. This task requires a decision support system for more effective irrigation water allocation, application and optimisation. In this context, this study provided a decision tool to assist irrigators and water managers in determining crop water requirements, irrigation water requirements and irrigation scheduling for more effective water allocation and application.
