Determining optimal growth patterns to reduce bronchopulmonary dysplasia among very preterm infants

Extremely premature infants are at high risk for linear growth failure and high body mass index which may affect their lung development. Through this project, we hope to identify growth patterns and body composition characteristics from birth to 36 corrected gestational age that are associated with lower risk of bronchopulmonary dysplasia. This project is being carried out in 3 Quebec NICUs.

Meryem Talbo, PhD candidate, School of Human Nutrition

Thankfully, there are many technological advances that can offer guidance to better control both low and high blood sugar levels. However, these technologies remain inaccessible to many.
