Founded in 1934, The Montreal Neurological Institute & Hospital (the Neuro), a Ï㽶ÊÓƵ research and teaching institute, is a world-leader in specialized neuroscience research and advanced patient care. The Neuro houses over 65 specialized researchers in brain development and function, including both brain trauma and disease, ranking it the largest brain research centre in Canada and among the largest globally. The Neuro has provided the infrastructure and resources to some of the world's most influential neuroscientists and neurosurgeons, such as the legendary Dr. Wilder Penfield and Prof. Brenda Milner, and the co-founders and scientific directors of the Ludmer Centre, Prof. Alan Evans.

With access to world-class neuroimaging facilities at the McConnell Brain Imaging Centre, and the resources of theÌýTanenbaum Open Science Institute, the Neuro extends the Ludmer Centre's research potentials.

Funding from theÌýLudmerÌýCentre has helped investigators at theÌýLudmerÌýCentre to launch multiple innovative projects, and to empower the local and global neuroscience community to collaborate and partner together in the fight against brain disorders.Ìý
