Shakespeare in 3D: An Actor's Point of View
Friends of the McGill Library in collaboration with the Stratford Festival presents the Annual Shakespeare Lecture featuring Seana McKenna.
Seana McKenna is considered by many to be Canada's finest dramatic actress of her generation. 2013 marks Seana McKenna’s 22nd season at the Stratford Festival. This season Ms. McKenna is playing Elizabeth in Mary Stuart and Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirit. Past roles at Stratford include: title role in Richard
III, Juliet, Viola, Olivia, Portia, Jessica; Queens Margaret, Katharine, Elizabeth; Chorus, Lady Macbeth, Titania, Helena, Paulina and the spaghetti-Western Shrew. She has also been featured in: The Matchmaker, Elektra, Dangerous Liaisons, Medea, Phèdre, Trojan Women, The Glass Menagerie, Orpheus Descending, Night of the Iguana, Private Lives, Fallen Angels, Present Laughter, Noises Off, London Assurance, and Good Mother.
Ms. McKenna will be speaking about her long relationship with Shakespeare’s stories, characters and the actor’s process involved in bringing The Bard’s words to life.
