Hear about wood type, wood engraving, and McGill’s 200-year-old Columbian printing press at this meeting of the ROAAr Book Club. Note, this will be a virtual event.

About the Speaker:
George WalkerÌýWalker trained as aÌýletterpressÌýprinter throughout highschool and college.ÌýWith degrees from OCAD, Brock University, Ryerson and York, he was elected to theÌýRoyal Canadian Academy of ArtsÌýfor his achievements in Canadian book arts in 2002.ÌýHe is currently an associate professor at theÌýOntario College of Art and Design University, where he has been a member of the faculty teaching book-related arts since 1985. He is the graphic novel acquisitions editor forÌýThe Porcupine's Quill, an independent Canadian publishing company, and a creative director atÌýFirefly Books.ÌýWalker is a member of the Loving Society of Letterpress Printers and the Binders of Infinite Love and the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild.ÌýIn 1985, he founded Columbus Street Press with his wife, Michelle, with whom he has two children. .
