For the Library's first-ever Long Night AgainstÌýProcrastination, we willÌýjoin forces with campus partners and departments to offer workshops, study halls, events, and programming to help you kick procrastination to the curb whileÌýcreatingÌýsustainable, healthy study practices. Pick and choose the events you want to attend based on when they work for you!

9:00 - 23:59Ìý Virtual Study Halls Miss studying at the library? Pop in and out of our Virtual Study Halls all day and night long. The study halls are a great option if you're looking to be held accountable for your work or you just want that feeling of hanging out while you read!
10:00 - 11:00 Avoiding Procrastination – Getting Started with a To-Do List Procrastination impacts all of us. We can procrastinate when we feel like we don’t have enough pressure, or when we feel like we have too much. Knowing how to start can be the hardest part. This presentation will show you how to figure out why you are procrastinating by identifying where you are on the stress curve. It will then give you strategies to help you get back on track, and teach you how to get started with a prioritized to-do list.
10:00 - 12:00 Citation Drop-In (APA & CSE) Need some help getting your citations in order? Talk to some of our experts who can help you work through how to write your citations, format your paper, and more!
10:00 - 21:00Ìý Live One-on-One Research Support Our Ask Us live chat support has been extended for one night only! Talk to a librarian using our instant message service to get help finding articles for your essays and more. You can even ask to have a screen share session on Zoom to make sure you're on the right track!
11:00 - 12:00 Experiment with Speed Reading Looking to increase yourÌýreadingÌýspeedÌýand practice new skills? In this one-hour workshop, you will have the opportunity to test out three differentÌýspeedÌýreadingÌýtechniques across various types of texts. This exercise-based session will help you enhance yourÌýreadingÌýskills by combing effectiveÌýreadingÌýstrategies taught by Teaching and Learning Services.
13:00 - 14:00 Writing Tutors Drop-in to a one-on-one Writing Tutor session with the McGill Writing Centre to get personalized help for your paper.
14:00 - 15:00Ìý Introduction to Zotero Zotero is a free and open source software that enables you to organize your research, create bibliographies and insert citations or footnotes in your assignments. This workshop will introduce participants to the main functions of Zotero. Participants can watch the demonstration or followÌýalong remotelyÌýthrough some hands-on session with exercises to learn how to use the program by doing rather than watching.

17:30Ìý -Ìý Ìý 18:15 Writing Workshop Join the McGill Psychology Students' Association for a writing workshop that will feature panelist discussion and a Q&A by undergraduate students in Psychology. This is a great way to learn from your peers who have experience putting together essays and writing at the academic level.
18:00 - 19:30 Research Skills for Undergraduates This workshop will give you the tools you need to get started and advance your research papers and projects. From identifying your research needs to producing a bibliography and everything in between, this workshop will help you take your skills to the next level.Ìý
