The Friends of the McGill Library are pleased to present an illustrated lecture by artist and photographer, Bonnie Folkins. The lecture promises to be an illuminating look at her travels with the Kazakh nomadic people across Mongolia and Kazakhstan.ÌýThe artistÌýhas ridden horseback over 1,100 miles in a single journey through MongoliaÌýandÌýover 2,100 miles on multiple trips throughÌýKazakhstan. SheÌýis a member of The Long Riders' Guild, anÌýinternational association of equestrian explorers and long distance travelers and she was recently elected a fellow of the New York Explorers Club. Ìý

Bonnie studied Fine Arts at Mount Allison University and atÌýthe International School of Art at Montecastello di VibioÌýinÌýItaly. She devoted her early career to oil and watercolour painting and created projects on location in places as varied asÌýItaly, India, Portugal and the Azores, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Macau, Mongolia, South Korea, Japan, Chile, Canada and the United States. Bonnie'sÌýworkÌýisÌýincluded in numerous corporate and university collections, including theÌýÏ㽶ÊÓƵ Visual Arts Collection.
