The Visual Arts Collection (VAC) invites you to use the artworks on display in the Visible Storage Gallery as writing prompts. Located on the 4th floor of McLennan Library, our Visible Storage Gallery encompasses a wide range of artists and mediums, which can be used as inspiration to get you started.
No prior experience is necessary – this event is all about embracing your imagination and relieving stress. We provide all the essentials: sharp pencils, art supplies, paper, and some warm tea for a quiet evening. For those seeking inspiration, we've crafted a few writing prompts in advance. Whether you're crafting short stories, art descriptions, poems, or graphic novels, you're free to go at your own pace.
This is not a writing class – rather an opportunity for people to try something new, or students to find some time to write for themselves. Drop by, and feel free to write, draw, or simply savor some tea while engaging in discussions about our collection and the artists on display.
