Mental Health and the Canadian Jurist
The English Speaking Section of the Bar of Montreal invites all faculty members and administrative staff to attend Mental Health and the Canadian Jurist. This colloquium will address some of the harsh realities of legal practice and its impact on law professionals’ mental health as reflected in a Canada-wide study comprised of 7,305 participants. The study’s leading researcher, Dr. Nathalie Cadieux will be the keynote speaker and will discuss findings in a fireside-chat format with a Quebec lawyer and a McGill law student. A representative from McGill’s Wellness Hub and a representative from Le Programme d'aide aux membres du Barreau du Québec (PAMBA) will conclude the event with a brief discussion of tools and resources available to students and lawyers respectively.
This event is accessible to all, from students and stagiaires to senior lawyers, judges and academics. If you have questions, comments, anecdotes or testimonials to share, anonymously or not, please feel free to send them to englishspeakingsection [at] gmail.com. Please register at the same email address. This event is awarding attendees with 1.5 free CLE hours, where applicable.
This is an in-person event with complimentary refreshments before the talk and a cocktail to follow.
