Vanessa Batik joins McGill Law as Assistant Dean (Administration and Strategy)
The Faculty of Law is pleased to welcome Mtre Vanessa Batik to its administrative team. She will take on the role of assistant dean (administration and strategy) on March 21, 2022. Â
Before joining McGill, Mtre Batik worked as a training officer at the Société québécoise d’information juridique (SOQUIJ), where she developed, researched, and delivered sessions on timely topics such as the legal implications of remote work and mental health in the workplace, and pandemic repercussions on Quebec labour law. She previously practiced administrative law at Lexauris, as well as civil litigation and criminal defense law at Rachidi Martin Avocats. She received an LLB from the Université de Montréal in 2011 before articling at Bélanger Sauvé.  Â
As assistant dean (administration and strategy), Mtre Batik will work closely with the dean, and provide leadership and expertise in advancing the development and implementation of the Faculty of Law’s strategic initiatives and balancing its administrative, academic, and professional dimensions. She will also oversee the communications team and the director of the Career Development Office.Â
