Shauna Van Praagh named President of Canadian Association of Law Teachers
Earlier this month, during the annual conference of the Canadian Association of Law Teachers () in Victoria, B.C., Professor Shauna Van Praagh was elected President of the Association and a member of its executive.
During her one-year mandate, Professor Van Praagh hopes to “continue the productive conversation between our ongoing pedagogical and curricular innovations here at McGill, and the shared projects and aspirations of law teachers across Canada.â€
Shauna Van Praagh currently teaches a first-year course in extra-contractual obligations and a second-year course in advanced common law obligations. She also teaches seminars on Social Diversity and on Law and Children and participates in the joint McGill-Hebrew University Summer Program in Human Rights. Professor Van Praagh was the Faculty's Associate Dean of Graduate Studies from 2007 to 2010.
CALT brings together law teachers from across Canada to share scholarship, discuss teaching and look at overarching issues of law and policy that relate to their academic and professional interests. The association works to the improvement of legal education, teaching and research, and to the dissemination of knowledge about Canadian legal systems.
