Call for Papers: Manfred Lachs Conference on the Regulation of Emerging Modes of Aerospace Transportation
Manfred Lachs Conference on the Regulation of Emerging Modes of Aerospace Transportation. Deadline for papers: February 8, 2013.
Montreal, Canada, on 24 and 25 May 2013
Organized by:
- Institute of Air and Space Law, Ď㽶ĘÓƵ
- International Civil Aviation Organization
- International Association for Advancement of Space Safety
The continuous development of new and emerging modes of aerospace transportation brings to the forefront the long-standing issue of an international legal boundary between the airspace and outer space legal regimes. The normative issues associated with these vehicles that are capable of seamless operation within both the airspace and outer space give rise to important questions pertaining, but not limited, to safety, security, certification, navigation and communication services, liability, infrastructure etc.
The Conference organizers are extending a Call for Papers aiming to discuss and critically analyze the current situation and corresponding legal challenges, as well as suggest viable options for policy and regulation mechanisms addressing and safeguarding the needs of the aviation, space and aerospace sector.
Prospective papers of 5,000-6,000 words must specifically address the session topics of the Conference (see attached program). Authors are invited to submit abstracts of up to 250 words by 8 February 2013, 17:00 (Montreal time).
The abstract must indicate the precise topic (title) of the paper, the name of the session for presentation, author’s full name and current organization affiliation, and full coordinates and email address. The language of the Conference is English.
Please send your abstracts to isavella.vasilogeorgi [at] mail.mcgill.ca, using “MLC 2013 – Abstract LAST Name” as the title of both the email and attachment. Â
