The Trans Legal Clinic is excited to announce another legal seminar on trans people’s access to identity papers in Quebec. The session is open to lawyers, law students, legal clinic coordinators, and people who advocate on behalf of trans people.

The seminar will provide an overview of the current legal situation for trans people looking to change their names and/or designations of sex on their identity papers both federally and provincially. It will examine recent as well as potential upcoming legal changes, in particular the changes facilitating access to changing identity papers for adults and minors domiciled in Quebec and how immigration status in Canada impacts the options available to trans people. The session will also review recent efforts to change the legal situation in Quebec.

The session will be delivered by Samuel Singer, a lawyer and advocate for trans people.

This seminar is accredited by a recognized provider for 3.0 hours of continuing legal education (CLE).
