Siberia in the Bones: Film Screening and Discussion with director & screenwriter Leontina Vatamanu and producer Virgiliu Mărgineanu
㽶Ƶ’s Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism, in association with the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Canada and Global Affairs Canada, is proud to present a screening and discussion of the renowned docudrama film “Siberia din oase / Siberia in the Bones” (Leontina Vatamanu; 2019; 86 minutes; Romanian, with English subtitles).

The movie is dedicated to the Moldovans deported to Siberia during the Stalin regime, and the horrors they endured 70 years ago. It is structured around the testimonies of four children who were forcibly exiled to Siberia during the second wave of deportations on the night of July 6 to 7, 1949.
Leontina Vatamanu (director, screenwriter) and Virgiliu Mărgineanu (producer) will be present to discuss the film. There will be a discussion and reception to follow, with snacks and light refreshments provided.
