The Interdisciplinary Research Network on Discrimination and Inclusion, created in 2013 by the McGill Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism’s Director, is delighted to welcome Professor Olivia Smith, from Dublin City University, for a seminar entitled "Litigating Family Status Discrimination: A Contextual Review".
Against the background of a deeply uneven package of work-family reconciliation measures and the European Commission’s increasing focus on engaging men in unpaid care work, Professor Smith will discuss the extension of the discrimination law framework to provide protection against family status discrimination to workers who undertake certain care duties in Ireland.
