Friday, March 20, 2020 12:00to16:00
Chancellor Day Hall 3644 rue Peel, Montreal, QC, H3A 1W9, CA

We regret to announce that this conference has been cancelled.

McGill's Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism and the Institute of Health & Social Policy invite you to the second seminar in the 2019-2020 Disability Seminar Series, which this year is themed around Autonomy and Empowerment. Bringing together students, academics, legal professionals, and activists, this half-day conference will consider the intersections of disability, law, and technology.

It will start with a keynote address by Christopher Kaposy, professor of bioethics at Memorial University. Kaposy comes from a background in philosophy and is the author of Choosing Down Syndrome: Ethics and New Prenatal Testing Technologies (MIT Press, 2018). It will also feature student presentations in a roundtable format, giving an opportunity for McGill students to share their scholarship on disability. Professor Jonas-Sébastien Beaudry, McGill Faculty of Law, will make give the closing remarks.
