 Getting the best out of your supervisor – with an Associate Dean

Join us for a panel discussion with an Associate Dean (AD) to learn more about strategies on building a positive relationship with your supervisor. You will learn about different supervising styles, learn strategies on how to handle disputes and misunderstandings and how to manage expectations. This session will consist of a short talk from an AD followed by Q&A period.  

Learning outcomes:

  • Recognize the impact your supervisory relationship can have on your graduate student experience  
  • Identify differing supervisory styles 
  • Locate on-campus resources relevant to supervision

If you can no longer attend, make sure to cancel your registration by either clicking "cancel" on the email confirmation you receive upon registration, or by filling out our . Otherwise, a $25 No-Show Fee will be charged to your McGill student account. Exceptions will only be made for students in the case of emergencies or “extenuating circumstances” (/skillsets/policies).
