OSVRSE Support Sessions for BIPOC Students

The Office for Sexual Violence Response Support and Education (OSVRSE) is organizing support sessions for BIPOC (Black and Indigenous People/Person of Color) students. Jada Joseph, our social work intern will be facilitating four sessions over the winter term.

The objective of these sessions is to provide a space for BIPOC students to unpack the intersections of race and sexual violence as well as other marginalized identities through an anti-oppressive, intersectional, and empowerment lens. Snacks will be provided at every session.

Sessions take place from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

How to participate:
Participation in every session is optional. This group is open to all McGill students who identify as a Black, Indigenous and/or a person of colour. Registration is required.

Jada is our 2019-2020 social work intern and will be facilitating the supportive discussion group for BIPOC students in the Winter semester. Jada has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and child-studies. She has been a peer supporter supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ folxs and survivors for over 4 years.

Accessibility: The building is wheelchair accessible via the main entrance on Sherbrooke. Wheelchair accessible washrooms can be found on the main floor but not on the 5th floor.The washrooms on the 5th floor are accessible by a small set of stairs and are not gender neutral.
