We are pleased to announce the 2022 recipients of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences’ Maude Abbott, Haile T. Debas, and Rosemary Wedderburn Brown Prizes:
Tamara Carver, PhD, is the Director of the Office of Ed-TECH (Education Technology and E-learning Collaboration for Health), located at the Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning. She is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Health Sciences Education and an Associate Member of the Department of Surgery.
Prof. Carver is this year’s recipient of the Maude Abbott Prize.
Samir Shaheen-Hussain, MDCM, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, an Associate Member at the School of Population and Global Health, and a pediatric emergency physician.
Dr. Shaheen-Hussain is this year’s recipient of the Haile T. Debas Prize.
Andraea Van Hulst, RN, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Ingram School of Nursing and an Associate Researcher at the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Health Center Research Institute (Child Health and Human Development).
Prof. Van Hulst is this year’s recipient of the Rosemary Wedderburn Brown Prize.
We extend our congratulatory wishes to Prof. Carver, Dr. Shaheen-Hussain, and Prof. Van Hulst. We look forward to celebrating them and learning about their extraordinary work at a special awards ceremony next month. An in-depth article describing their work and its significant impact will be published after the event.
Since COVID-19 made it difficult to organize an in-person ceremony for the past two years, this year’s event will serve as a momentous occasion to also recognize the Ìý²¹²Ô»åÌý of the Maude Abbott, Haile T. Debas, and Rosemary Wedderburn Brown Prizes.
