How does the IMPRESS program work?

  • PIs submit an application that includes a description of the project(s) IMPRESS student(s) could undertake.
  • Students submit applications indicating their top three project choices and Branches places students in a lab based on project preference.
  • Branches will also pair IMPRESS students with a peer mentor and organize professional-development workshops and cultural and social activities.
  • Once the program starts, supervisors will host IMPRESS students in their labs for 15 hours/week over the course of 10 weeks in the summer.
