Teaching and Learning (M.A.)

Program Description

The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Teaching and Learning (Non-Thesis) offered by the Department of Integrated Studies in Education in the Faculty of Education is a course-based program that emphasizes practical and innovative learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in resourceful thinking, problem identification, and communication to pursue professional opportunities (or potentially continue their studies).

The program may be taken as one of the following options:

  • English Language Arts
  • English Second Language
  • Science and Technology
  • Social Sciences
  • Mathematics

Unique Program Features

  • The program leads to a teacher certification (in Quebec) for those already holding an undergraduate degree in a teachable subject area identified by the Quebec Ministry of Education;
  • The program includes coursework and an internship component comprised of two school-based internships.

University-Level Admission Requirements

  • An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
  • English-language proficiency
