Egyptian Students - BCAC - McGill

In the spring of 2021, McGill signed an agreement with the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in Canada (referred to as BCAC) to provide scholarships for citizens of Egypt to pursue their PhD studies in the fields of their preference at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. The agreement aims to foster contributions from successful students to their occupations and communities, and to establish a greater understanding and cooperation between Canadians and Egyptians.

Value & Duration

BCAC Scholars will be provided with annual funding to cover the cost of the following:

  • Domestic tuition fees (including ancillary fees)
  • A stipend for living expenses
  • Health insurance plan
  • Cost of roundtrip airfare to and from Montreal

McGill in turn, will cover the tuition differential between the International and the Quebec Resident rate, as set each year by the Quebec Ministry of Education and Higher Education (approximate value of $13,500 CAD annually for PhD students). The supervisor/department will provide a 5,000 top up/year.

Funding is provided for a maximum of four (4) years.

Eligibility

  • Must be a citizen of Egypt
  • Must apply and receive an Offer of Admission from McGill for a PhD.
