The 16th annual McGill Global Health Night will take place on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in the New Residence Hall Ballroom and online. The event will include a Student Poster Fair (in-person only) to showcase McGill student involvement in global health research and other global health initiatives. Please note that a copy of your submission will be forwarded to your supervisor

Call For Poster Abstracts

GHP is now accepting poster abstract submissions via the form below. We encourage submissions from McGill students, residents and postdocs across all disciplines related to global health including (but not limited to) communicable and non-communicable diseases, education and capacity building, policy, governance and economics, determinants of health (social, environmental and otherwise), innovations and technologies. You can explore examples of past posters from the 2020 and 2021 galleries.

All abstracts and posters must align with one of the following categories:

  1. Global health research: research led by student(s) -- see an example of a research poster
  2. Global health initiatives: Programs and missions undertaken by groups -- see an example of a global health initiative poster
  3. Global health clinical placements: Supervised clinical practice in approved settings for clinical students -- see an example of a clinical placement poster

If your abstract fits more than one category, please select the one that best represents your work.

Submission Deadline

The deadline to submit poster abstracts is Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 11:59 PM.

Eligible participants include current McGill undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students, as well as postdocs and residents from any field of study.

Selection Process

The Global Health Programs office will review all submissions for acceptance into the Student Poster Fair. To enhance your chances of acceptance, please ensure your abstract clearly demonstrates its relevance to global or population health. Notifications of acceptance will be sent in the third week of October 2024.

If you want to get a head start on your poster, you can find general guidelines on our website. More detailed guidelines will be shared with those who are selected to present at the Poster Fair.

Ï㽶ÊÓƵ is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous Peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg Nations. McGill honours, recognizes, and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which peoples of the world now gather. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
