Public Lecture series: From COVID vaccine to cancer vaccine

The keynote speaker at this fall’s Public Lecture was Avak Kahvejian, a GCI Alumnus who earned his Ph.D. and BSc in Biochemistry from Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. A general partner at Flagship Pioneering, Avak discussed his experience inventing and launching new therapeutic platforms.

Avak’s remarks served as a kick-off for a panel discussion between GCI Professors Thomas Duchaine and Nahum Sonenberg about transforming mÏ㽶ÊÓƵ research into treatments and approaches that can tackle cancer's greatest challenges. The panel was moderated by Prof. Joe Schwarcz.

We would like to thank all the generous donors (lead: Banque Nationale, Bombardier and The Morris and Rosalind Goodman Family Foundation), sponsors, volunteers and attendees for their continued support.
