The GCI welcomes Andrew Semotiuk to our research support team!

The Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute (GCI) is pleased to announce the recent addition of Andrew Semotiuk, Ph.D. As part of the research support team, he will support PIs and trainees in their research endeavours.

In addition to expertise in laboratory management, project proposals, and feasibility studies, Semotiuk brings his desire to help advance cancer research at the GCI. He studied biomedical sciences during his masters and plant biology during his doctorate at the University of California Riverside. Andrew came to Montreal in 2017 as part of a research collaboration with Alain Cuerrier of the Institut de Recherche en Biologie Végétale. He and his family fell in love with Montreal and remained in the city, while he consulted for startups.ÌýÌý

Andrew has contributed to the research, management, and protocol development in labs in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. These labs focused on diverse topics, including protein turnover, radiation medicine, vascular physiology, and ethnopharmacology. As part of this, he has liaised between researchers and ethics committees. He enjoys creating efficient research environments, diagnosing issues, and error trapping.ÌýÌý
