Each year, the Helmholtz Young Investigator in Diabetes (HelDi) Award recognizes the outstanding achievements of two young scientists in the field of diabetes research. We are proud to announce that GCI Prof. Lawrence Kazak is a recipient of this year’s 2022 HelDi Award!
The Helmholtz Munich Diabetes Conference is a high-impact conference series where internationally leading scientists in diabetes research gather to present and discuss their most recent data and achievements. The overarching goal is to find new ways to prevent and treat diabetes, and this year’s conference focused on the latest therapies in diabetes. Prof. Kazak’s lecture presented his recent finding that ADRA1A-Gq signaling potentiates adipocyte thermogenesis. Out of the 15 rising star researchers nominated from around the world, only 2 ultimately received the HelDi Award.
Congratulations to Prof. Lawrence Kazak on this impressive achievement!
