We are pleased to announce that the Fonds de recherche du Québec-Santé (FRQ-S) will support Ï㽶ÊÓƵ's MICAM Quebec Transgenesis Platform Program, the largest service in this field in Quebec and the second largest in Canada, over a period of 5 years, from 2023 to 2028. MICAM Platform Manager Mitra Cowan explains thatÌý"the funding support that the MICAM platform has received from the FRQ will allow our platform to offer both cutting edge and newly emerging technologies to Québec researchers".

The McGill Integrated Core for Animal Modeling (MICAM) offers various services related to mouse model generation and maintenance, which are an invaluable research resource in the medical research community.

In operation since the early 1990s, originally under the direction of Prof. Michel Tremblay, the MICAM facility has been providing high-quality services to researchers at McGill, in Montreal and across Canada, for over 30 years. Since 2010 under the direction of Dr. Yojiro Yamanaka, they are constantly updating their methods and techniques and developing new technologies to respond to various demands from our researchers.
