6 scientists at the GCI were ranked among the top 100 in Canada for their disciplines, and 3 of them are among the top 1000 worldwide

The first edition of Research.com’s annual scientific ranking is out, and GCI researchers ranked very high.

The study performed a meticulous and reliable examination of 166,880 scientists from around the world, with the aim of inspiring scholars, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers worldwide to explore where leading experts are heading and to provide an opportunity for the entire scientific community to discover who the leading experts in specific fields of research are.

Position in the ranking is based on a scientist's D-index (Discipline H-index), which only includes papers and citation values for an examined discipline. GCI researchers were ranked in the disciplines “Genetics and Molecular Biology” and “Biology and Biochemistry”.

We are delighted to announce Prof. Nahum Sonenberg’s ranking as #1 in Canada and #24 in the world for the discipline of Biology and Biochemistry. Other notable rankings include Prof. Philippe Gros, Prof. Jerry Pelletier, Prof. Morag Park, Prof. Vincent Giguère and Prof. Michel Tremblay’s places as top 100 in Canada. We are privileged to have so many distinguished researchers at the GCI, who have influenced and shaped their fields of research to such extents.
