Ultra rapid produce decontamination

Under the supervision of Professor Hosahalli Ramaswamy, Regina Basumatary studied the novel technology involving combination of steam and sound for ultra rapid short time surface heating of fruits and vegetables for microbial decontamination

"I am proud of my food processing team at McGill," says Basumatary, a recipient of ³Ù·É´ÇÌýgraduate student paper awards at both the Institute for Thermal Processing Specialists and Northeast Agricultural Biological Engineering Conferences.

Regina Basumatary originates from India, and and completed her undergrdauate degree at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences in India.
