McGill24 2019: Help Support the Department of Family Medicine

Published: 7 March 2019

Dear friends and colleagues,

Mark your calendars: On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, McGill will be holding its fourth annual day of giving.

McGill24 is a 24-hour virtual celebration, bringing together faculty, staff and students, as well as alumni and parents, from around the world.

It is an opportunity to share what makes you #McGillProud and to give to your favourite McGill cause.

I would like to encourage you to join me in making .

This year, the Department's efforts will focus on funding two important strategic programs, both of which are aimed at developing our health system through our University Family Medicine Groups (FMG-U):

  • The Quality Improvement program, led by Dr. Neb Kovacina, and
  • The Faculty Development Program, led by Dr. Audrey Juras.

These two programs actively contribute to improving the quality of our teaching and clinical work by ensuring the best possible education for our future family physicians and ensuring the continuous optimization of their clinical practices.

No donation is too small. When we give as part of McGill24, our gifts can go further, unlocking special challenge funds from other donors once a target number of donations is reached. Please note that all donations made through the link below will go to the Department of Family Medicine and are tax deductible.

To jump-start our efforts, I made the first gift of 500$. This is a challenge for you all to join me – remember, no amount is too small! McGill24 is about participation. I hope that I can count on you to help make this year’s McGill24 the most successful yet.

You can donate online to direct your gift to the Department of Family Medicine. If you have any questions about our plans for McGill24, please contact Frédérique Mazerolle, Communication Administrator of the Department of Family Medicine (com.fammed [at] mcgill.ca).

With warm regards,

Dr. Howard Bergman
Chair, Department of Family Medicine
