Dr. Tracie Barnett promoted Assistant Professor in the McGill Department of Family Medicine
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Tracie Barnett has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor (tenure-track) as of August 1, 2019.
A Fonds de recherché Santé Québec (FRQS) Senior Research Scholar, Dr. Barnett obtained her PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ in 2004 and completed her post-doctoral training in Health Promotion at the Université de Montréal, where she then became Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine in 2007. She joined the McGill Department of Family Medicine as an Adjunct Professor in 2014, supervising graduate students in Family Medicine. Dr. Barnett also is an Associate Professor at the Centre INRS-Institut Armand Frappier and conducts research at the CHU Sainte-Justine.
Her research focuses on the influence of built and social environments on cardio-metabolic outcomes. Specifically, her work aims to define relevant environments and produce meaningful indicators for residential neighbourhoods, schools and social networks, and explore how these evolve over time in order to test their potential influence on cardiovascular risk factors including obesity and related lifestyle behaviours.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Barnett on this appointment and wishing her every success in her position.
