MOHSSR-ROSA Seminar: “The Quebec and Israeli systems of health care: principles in common with varying practices”
The McGill Observatory on Health and Social Services Reforms (MOHSSR) and the Research on Organization of Healthcare Services for Alzheimer's (ROSA) is hosting a research seminar titled “The Quebec and Israeli systems of health care: principles in common with varying practices”, presented by Drs. Mark Clarfield and Ora Paltiel.
The respective systems of health care, Quebec via the Canada Health Act and Israel's through its analogous National health Insurance Law, hold many central principles in common. However, practice and structure differ. The speakers will address the relevant issues in a session of compare and contrast, with a special emphasis on care of older persons.
Dr. Mark Clarfield is presently an on sabbatical in Montreal and is an Emeritus Professor of Geriatrics at the Ben-Gurion University in Be’er-Sheva, Israel. He was head of McGill's University Division of Geriatrics before moving to Israel and is an adjunct professor in our Department of Family Medicine.
Dr. Ora Paltiel directed Hadassah’s Center for Research in Clinical Epidemiology and from 2016-2018, and served as Head of the Braun School, maintaining her teaching and research commitments (mainly in cancer epidemiology), and does clinical work primarily in the care of patients with lymphoma.
