Alison Doucet

Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, she is a family physician at the Clinic Indigo and also works as a hospitalist at the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Health Center on the acute respiratory service. Earlier in her career, she provided primary care to Cree and Inuit communities of Northern Quebec. From 2006 to 2014, she was the Director of the Global Health Division at the Department of Family Medicine. She is currently the principal Investigator and a preceptor for TEACH, Training and Education for Andean Community Health, a training program for indigenous community health workers in Ecuador. This project is a participatory action research project initiated in 2011. In this context, she has co-supervised numerous students for their summer research projects. Her particular area of interest is empowerment of patients and primary health care workers through education and capacity-building.
