Construction Start: Strathcona Music Building - Rehabilitation of building envelope
Please be advised that Ï㽶ÊÓƵ has mandated St-Denis Thompson to carry out the following project: 16-135 Strathcona Music – Rehabilitation of building envelope Lot 4.ÌýÌý
Building envelope restoration of South, East and North stone masonry facades. Construction is expected to last three years and will be carried out during the spring, summer and fall periods of 2024, 2025 and 2026.Ìý
Construction start date: April 2024Â
Planned construction end date: November 2026Â
Work schedule:Â Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Any additional hours will be coordinated.Ìý

Scope of main work:Â
- Repair and/or replacement of stone masonry, consolidation and repair of mortar joints, repair and/or replacement of stone stairs of main entrance and sculpted elements, and restoration of ornaments.Ìý
- Construction of two exterior staircases in the North courtyard.Ìý
- Replacement of the roof membrane over the green room of Pollack Hall in the North-East courtyard.ÌýÌý
- Repairs on main chimneys and installation of new metal flashing and drains on the roof.Ìý
- Possible interventions in mechanical rooms 113, 113A and 117 if main entrance floor slab needs replacement.ÌýÌý
Impact & mitigation:Â
- Access to the Strathcona Music Building will be through the Elizabeth Wirth Building while the stairs of the main entrance are under repair. Users will be informed in advance.Ìý
- Emergency exits may change during the work. Users will be informed of any changes.Ìý
- Service shutdowns may be needed. Building users will be informed in advance.Ìý
- The work will create noise at times. The work likely to create higher levels of noise will be coordinated in advance with the building director and the building occupants. Â
- An exterior enclosure to contain dust will be put in place.Ìý
