Tamara Sussman
Biography:

I am an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. I started working at McGill in 2007. Since that time, I have taken on a number of leadership positions within my department including Program Director of Field Education (2008-2018) and Graduate Program Director of the PhD Program (2021-present).

My program of research centers on improving care practices for older persons relocating to and residing in long-term care. My recent research projects have sought to improve the relocation experiences of older persons and their families, strength palliative approaches and enhance inclusive practices for formerly homeless older persons, older persons living with dementia, and older persons identifying as gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT).

I believe strongly that individual success is fostered by relational connections, exchange and support. I am delighted to be a part of a formalized process that recognizes this principle.
