Mentoring Relationships With a Focus on Equity

What is mentoring and why does it matter? This workshop offers an introduction to mentoring with a focus on equity. Challenges and strategies in developing and maintaining effective mentoring relationships are discussed. Models for building successful mentoring relationships are outlined.

By attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the key barriers experienced by equity group members in accessing and benefiting from mentorships
  • Build knowledge of the skills needed to establish and maintain respectful and inclusive mentoring relationships
  • Locate internal and external resources to support the development of mentorships
