We are excited to honour BMH 2017 at McGill and we wish to recognize Black Excellence in a multitude of areas throughout the history, the present, and the future of the Black community at McGill, in Montreal and across Canada. This is an especially important year as it marks the 10th anniversary of February being officially recognized by the Quebec government as Black History Month.
For McGill’s first ever full Black History Month celebration, we will be organizing and collaborating on a variety of events and activities which highlight the diversity of Black history, Black culture and Black life. Events and activities will explore these following four sub-themes:
- Health & Wellness
- Science & Innovation
- Education & Awareness
- Arts
February may be the shortest month of the year, but it promises to be one of the most exciting and eventful as we prepare to launch BHM 2017 at McGill. We invite students, staff, faculty and members of the Montreal community to celebrate with us!
