Biography: 

Zachary is currently an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Researcher in English Literature. Zachary’s dissertation examined the Middle English response to the Western Schism and his monograph will focus on English vernacular ecclesiology. This project examines the representation of Medieval Rome in fourteenth- and fifteenth-century England. Zachary has published articles or had articles accepted for publication in New Medieval Literatures, Yearbook of Langland Studies, The Library, and Notes & Queries as well as several edited collections. At the University of Virginia, Zachary was a Bradley Dissertation Fellow in the Department of English, a Clay Fellow in the Institute for Humanities and Global Cultures, a Skinner Scholar, and a Praxis Fellow in Digital Humanities. His research has also been supported by the Medieval Academy of America, the Houghton Library at Harvard University, the Society of the Study of Medieval Languages and Literature and the Biblioteca Capitolare Foundation in Vercelli, Italy. In addition to his research, Zachary enjoys teaching a broad spectrum of classes on topics ranging from medieval poetry to ABC’s hit reality TV series The Bachelor.
