That’s A Wrap! 2024 Research Symposium

The 2024 DOM Research Symposium has concluded! The event was well attended with over 100 participants who joined us both online and in-person. The day featured presentations on topics such as genomic-based Ï㽶ÊÓƵ therapeutics, idiopathic nephrotic syndrome and early detection of lymphoma relapse using ctDNA, alongside engaging poster presentations and networking opportunities.

A special recognition goes to our keynote speakers, Dr. Janet Rich-Edwards and Dr. Marc Carrier. Dr. Rich-Edwards explored whether pregnancy complications can predict and prevent cardiometabolic disease, while Dr. Carrier discussed building a career in cancer-associated thrombosis clinical research.

Congratulations to Owen Luo for winning the Abstract Slam competition with his work on " The Canadian Society of Internal Medicine’s Choosing Wisely Canada Recommendations for Climate-Conscious Practice".

The event’s success was driven by organizer Alexandra Hauck and the Research Committee, including Dr. Kevin Schwartzman, Dr. Stephane Laporte, Dr. Louise Pilote, Dr. Stephanie Lehoux, Dr. Arielle Mendel, Dr. Momar Ndao and Dr. Amal Bessissow.

A heartfelt thank you to all who attended, to the organizing committee and to all the speakers and presenters for their invaluable contributions.
