Dr. Sarit Assouline appointed as Chief, Division of Hematology, JGH Department of Medicine

We are thrilled to share the news of Dr. Sarit Assouline's appointment as Chief of the Division of Hematology at the Jewish General Hospital, effective April 1, 2024. Dr. Assouline assumes this role succeeding Dr. Hans Knecht, who has served as McGill and JGH Division Director since 2014. Dr. Knecht has made significant contributions to laboratory medicine and has been admired for his unwavering dedication to patient care. We extend our heartfelt wishes for a well-deserved retirement with his family in Switzerland.

Dr. Assouline is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and Oncology, a Physician in the Division of Hematology at Jewish General Hospital, a Senior Investigator at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research, and a Full Member of the McGill Centre for Translational Research in Cancer. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Toronto, and hematology, and oncology at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. She also completed a Master's in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. Dr. Assouline is an FRSQ Chercheuse Clinicienne de Mérite.

Dr. Assouline’s research program focuses on the clinical development of novel therapies for the treatment of leukemia and lymphoma, with expertise in the design and conduct of early-phase clinical trials for these difficult-to-treat diseases. She is also interested in epidemiological and translational research on new approaches to treating these diseases.
