Two weeks ago we warmly welcomed Lynde Kavanagh-Ormond as our new Associate Director, Advancement. Lynde will be working on the development and management of our fundraising activity with an emphasis on securing major gifts. Working closely with the UA team and university stakeholders, Lynde will help showcase areas where Dentistry’s strengths and the passions of donors intersect. Lynde has been with McGill since November 2014 working at McGill’s School of Continuing Studies. As the Development Officer, she was responsible for leading all aspects of the School’s advancement efforts. Prior to this, Lynde was Business Development Manager at Causeforce Canada raising funds and awareness for The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer and The Pharmaprix Weekend to End Women's Cancers, benefiting the Segal Cancer Centre at the Jewish General Hospital. Her main focus was to generate new corporate leads and to help onboard and train new team members. Before entering the non-profit sector, Lynde held various positions in business development and sales. While completing her university studies, Lynde worked part-time in her family’s dental clinic (both her mom and dad are Faculty of Dentistry grads), which has provided her with general dental terminology knowledge, as well as a business understanding of running a successful dental practice. Lynde holds a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Business Communications from Ottawa University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Concordia University.
