Congratulations to Professor Mary Ellen Macdonald for being selected as Associate Editor for qualitative research of the Canadian Journal of Public Health. As Associate Editor she will focus on continuing to build the presence of theoretically‐informed qualitative research on public health issues at CJPH. In her role as Associate Editor she will be responsible for participating in the review process and recommending reviewers, advising the Editorial Board on journal orientation, identifying and recruiting authors and advising senior editors on specific papers, reviews and projects. She will hold this title for the next four years with the possibility of renewal. Mary Ellen Macdonald has a PhD is a medical anthropologist with postdoctoral training in Pediatric Palliative Care. She chairs the McGill Qualitative Health Research Group, a committed group of qualitative health researchers looking to broaden the scope of their knowledge-base and expertise. Her main research interests include oral health in vulnerable populations, palliative care and bereavement research, cultural aspects of health and illness with Indigenous communities, and health professions education research.
