European Conference on Domestic Violence
The 3rd European Conference on Domestic Violence (ECDV) in Olso, Norway focuses on a range of research topics related to domestic violence relevant to practice, services and policy development. This conference is designed for researchers, practitioners and policy makers. Its main aims are to:
- Raise the awareness of domestic violence, share research findings and practice developments from across Europe and beyond and discuss the implications for policy and practice;
- Develop critical and valid research on domestic violence, across disciplinary and topic boundaries;
- Promote the evidence baseinforming policy and practice developments relating to domestic violence;
- Encourage networking between delegates to promote the development of new research, effective policy and good practice.
IMPACTS Project Director, Dr. Shaheen Shariff, is attending the conference along with Dr. Diane Crocker, a partner on IMPACTS and professor in the Department of Criminology at Saint Mary’s University. Shannon Hutcheson and Christopher Dietzel, who are research assistants on the IMPACTS Project and PhD students at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, will also be presenting with Dr. Shariff and Dr. Crocker. Their symposium presentation is titled, "Addressing Sexual Violence in Educational Contexts and Online through Policy and Legal Approaches".Â
