My research focuses on gastroenterology diseases through clinical and population-based studies in Québec and across Canada. My work has focused on adherence to guidelines in patient and physician populations and, more recently, on the quality of colonoscopy services. My research activities address the utilization of preventive health services for colorectal cancer, the enhancement of methods in colorectal cancer screening research, the evaluation of the safety and quality of screening colonoscopy, and the development of a national strategy for colorectal cancer screening. Ongoing funded projects are on the development of a smartphone application to help patients prepare for colonoscopy and eliciting patient preferences for care in inflammatory bowel disease.
