Jinxia Liu
Ph.D.
Professor Liu’s expertise include environmental engineering, environmental analytical chemistry and environmental microbiology. The main focus of her research is on developing analytical methods for emerging pollutants, such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and microplastics, the environmental fate of organic contaminants in natural and engineered systems, the development of in-situ and ex-situ remediation technologies. Her research team is also working on developing next-generation water treatment technologies.
Prof. Liu has served as the principal investigator on dozens of research grants and contracts focused on PFAS in the United States and Canada, with many projects conducted in close collaborations with governmental agencies and private industry.
