Bill, what is the future of consulting? Where is it going from here?

Karl Moore:聽Hubert, what is the vision of the CBC today? Is it different than 10聽years ago, let鈥檚 say?
No one expects the boss of a big organization to be a shrinking violet.
... 鈥淚f you鈥檙e in an executive suite, it鈥檚 a Darwinian struggle to get there,鈥� notes聽author and business professor Karl Moore. 鈥淭here鈥檚 a lot of competition, so you鈥檙e quite a good leader.鈥� And being a good leader means contact with people. Lots of it. 鈥淲e expect the CEO聽to be an extrovert,鈥� Moore says. 鈥淚f they get on an elevator we expect them to say hello and not look downcast and not to avoid human contact, or we say, 鈥榃hat鈥檚 happening to the share price? There must be terrible troubles.鈥�

For a long time, one of Canada鈥檚 largest residential landlords, Canadian Apartment Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (CAPREIT), admittedly did better at managing its properties than its staff did.
