Primary duties:
The Research Associate will work independently and be responsible for leading experimental research projects in the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience lab, under the supervision of Dr. Xiaoqian Chai. His/her work will include: (1) Lead a new research project which applies neuroimaging and genetic analyse on large open-source pediatric data biobanks, and (2) Lead the experimental research team to implement a multimodal imaging project on memory development in autism.

Specific duties include:

Design, build, and manage MySQL and CouchDB databases, including a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) database, for members of the PI laboratory and other projects/collaborators.

Develop and implement web-based interfaces (php, perl-CGI) of these databases, integrate user requirements in terms of on-line queries and analytical tools.

Setup and maintenance of a web server to host databases and their web interfaces

C. L. de Carvalho-Heineken Prize recognizes his seminal work in the cognition of music

Cognitive neuroscientist Robert Zatorre has been awarded the C.L. de Carvalho-Heineken Prize in Cognitive Sciences.

The Heineken Prize–given every two years to five different researchers–is considered the most prestigious international science prize in The Netherlands and includes a monetary reward of US$200,000. Previous winners include Nancy Kanwisher of MIT, and Stanislas Dehaene of the Collège de France.

Neuroscientist Alan Evans has been awarded the Killam Prize, one of Canada’s highest honours, for his numerous contributions to the understanding of the human brain.
