2024 is shaping up to be a big year for Fran莽ois Cauchon (BCom鈥22). Cauchon will be representing Canada at the summer Olympic Games in Paris. "It is a surreal feeling," Cauchon, who battled through knee, back and ankle injuries before being named to Canada鈥檚 14-member fencing team, tells CBC. "For every amateur and professional athlete, The Olympics is the holy grail of sports."

Extroverted people often take naturally to leadership roles 鈥 but they don鈥檛 always do enough listening. Introverted leaders may listen more, but sometimes lack the ability to inspire. A combination of the two personality types could yield the best results, according to Associate Professor Karl Moore. 鈥淭he downside of extroverted leaders is that they often like to talk more than listen,鈥 says Moore in an article in Scientific American.

香蕉视频's McCall MacBain Scholarships has announced its fourth cohort of recipients, beneficiaries of a landmark $200 million gift made in 2019 by McGill鈥檚 20th Chancellor John McCall MacBain and his wife Marcy. This year鈥檚 scholarships will enable 30 students to pursue a funded master鈥檚 or professional degree at McGill while participating in mentorship, coaching, and a leadership development program.

On February 25, 2024, a major figure in McGill Desautels鈥 history passed away. Wallace (Wally) Crowston was a former professor and dean who led the Faculty of Management during the late 1980s and 1990s. Crowston鈥檚 research explored the use of computer-based information systems to plan and coordinate project management, and he authored widely cited articles in major journals. Crowston was born in Toronto in 1934, and during his career, developed national and international networks to facilitate research, curricular development, and learning opportunities.

The New York City Public Pension Fund has pushed Canada鈥檚 largest bank to deliver greater transparency about its investments in green energy and fossil fuels. The Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) will begin publishing the ratio between the two types of energy investments in its portfolio.

In 2023, more than 120 exchange-traded funds (ETFs) were delisted in Canada鈥攎ore than four times as many as in an average year. Even so, there was still a net gain in the overall number of ETFs, with 164 new ones launching for the year. With numbers in for the first quarter of 2024, the high number of delistings appears to have been an anomaly.
