Writing Research Articles, REDM 410: A new undergraduate course focusing on writing and publishing scientific manuscripts
Students will learn about the various components of the scientific article and about publishing in the sciences, including: the role of editors and reviewers; "instructions for authors"; and the submission process. They will learn how to structure the Abstract, Introduction, and Discussion of the full manuscript; in addition, they will experience the advantages of writing for a wide inter-disciplinary audience. In this class, students will apply these newly-acquired techniques to write about their own research and act as 'editors' to deconstruct each other's articles. This course is designed for students who are conducting independent research projects and other interested students in the Faculty of Science.
This 3-credit course meets on Mondays and Wednesday from 1:05 - 2:25.
