OTTAWA - Evan Vossen, a native of Swift Current, Sask., scored twice and added a pair of assists as No.6-ranked McGill skated to a 5-1 victory in men's university hockey at Carleton, Friday, avenging back-to-back losses to the Ravens last month.

Special teams proved to be the difference as the Redmen connected forthree power-play goals in 11 chances and added a pair of shorthanded markers, while killing off all six PP opportunities by the Ravens.

The Redmen led 2-0 after the first period and 3-0 after two in a game that featured 106 penalty minutes, including 58 to Carleton,

Rounding out the scoring for McGill were forwards Christophe Longpre-Poirier of Longueuil, Que., and Alexandre Picard-Hooper of Boucherville, Que., plus defencemen Marc-Andre Dorion of St. Hubert, Que.,Ìýand Yan Turcotte of Laval, Que.

McGill had a 34-33 edge in shots as Redmen sophomore netminder Hubert Morin of St. Georges de Beauce, Que., made 32 saves for the win, improving his record to 15-2. Carleton's David Archibald registered 29 saves and fell to 8-9-1.

The second-place Redmen improved to 19-5-0 and continue their road-trip Saturday night with a game against the Ottawa Gee-Gees (6-17-1) that is slated to be webcast live on the SSN network. Carleton, which fell to 13-9-3 play at Concordia on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
